Ignite is the high school ministry at Grace Bible Church.
To preserve and display the glory of God through the lives of students in the church.
The Scriptures: The Bible is the very Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16) and is the absolute standard by which all things are measured (1 Peter 1:3) in our life and in the ministry of the church. As they are authoritative over all areas of life and ministry, they are also sufficient for the equipping of every person for the glory of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
The Preeminence of Jesus Christ: He is to be preeminent in the church as the One who has eternally existed with the Father (John 1:1-4), was the holy Creator and sustainer of all things (Colossians 1:17-18), put on flesh (Philippians 2:6-11), defeated sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:54-57), purchased sinners with His blood (Acts 20:28), and now has been made head over all things including the Church (Ephesians 1:20-23). Because of His great person and work, Jesus Christ must be the focus, priority, and passion of the Church.
The Worship of God: The mandate to worship God (Deuteronomy 6:13; Matthew 4:10), which is attributing the glory and honor due Him, occurs through the proclamation of His greatness (Acts 20:20) and testimony of one’s life (Romans 12:1).
Building up of the Saints: As members of one body, the church has been called to minister and serve one another through mutual love devotion, kindness, teaching, admonishing, encouragement, forgiveness, and humility. Through the exercising of each one’s gifts and the “one anothers” of Scripture, the whole body becomes unified to the glory of God.
Evangelizing the Lost: As “children of light” (Ephesians 5:8), the believer has been called to give witness to the glory of God revealed in the salvation of men through one’s personal walk (1 Peter 2:11-12, 3:1-2) and by their proclamation (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 10:14).
