Pastor Rick Goertzen

I have always wanted to serve the Lord in ministry. Early in my life I thought it would be as a missionary, but God has directed me into the local pastorate. I am a church guy. I love everything about church. For the local church is the body of Christ; it is the place where God's Word is preached to God's people.

My training was at Southeastern Bible College and seminary at The Master's Seminary. During and after school, I have served in five churches in Alabama, Louisiana, California and Kansas. I took my first position at a church in 1983. For over 20 years it has been my joy to serve in some capacity on church staffs.

It has been my greatest joy to be a part of the work here in Hutchinson. In 1995, when the church was started, we came as its first pastor. God has taught me so much. And I have had such a wonderful time with my brothers and sisters in Hutchinson. Who would have though that God would bring me back to my hometown to edify and evangelize Hutchinson?

It is my heart's desire that the truth of the Word of God would be proclaimed to Reno County. It is also my desire that Grace Bible Church would impact the world to the best of our ability. There is no greater privilege than to serve our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For me, that means that my primary purpose is to use my gift to preach His precious Word.
