The “Prince of Preachers,” Charles Spurgeon, once said of John 17 that this chapter “is an ever precious portion to all true believers” because we all have “an inalienable interest in it” — meaning that this chapter is dear to us because in it we see Christ’s prayer for His own. To see Jesus praying for His disciples, including even us, is to be comforted, encouraged, and strengthened so that we may better live for him. This is the theme of this year’s GBC Bible Conference: “The Glorious Prayer of our Lord” from John 17.

After 20+ years in the coaching world, the Lord called Chuck to fulltime ministry. In January of 2018, he was called as Assistant Pastor at Grace Bible Church, where he was trained and discipled by the leaders at GBC. In the spring and summer of 2022, 30+ men, women and children, quit their jobs, sold their houses, said goodbye to family and friends, left the church that they loved and that had loved them and moved to Manhattan, KS to plant Manhattan Bible Church. Chuck considers it such a joy to serve and walk along side of these men and women whose love for the Lord has caused him to love Him more as well. After three and a half years serving a Lead Pastor of MBC, he can testify to God's provision and care over His church. MBC has seen God do more than they could ever imagine in the lives of those who moved and in the lives of those who have joined the church since 2022. Chuck is married to Kim and they have five children.
