In Ephesians 4, as Paul addresses the issue of unity in the church, he shows us that leaders in the church are to equip the saints for the work of ministry (vs. 12). This work of ministry then leads to a building up of the body, a unity in the body, and a maturity in the body. This work of ministry by the saints is what then “makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love” (vs. 16).
What are GraceGroups?
GraceGroups, our small group ministry, are used to “work” this out in our body. These groups help men and women learn and interact as members of Christ’s body. GraceGroups are the platform, or the trellis, where the vine of Ephesians 4 can grow and produce. In these groups, men and women are placed in situations in which they can live out passages such as Ephesians 4:25-32. They can use their words for encouragement and building up rather than for corrupting and tearing down. Passages like Colossians 3:12-17 can be practiced, and those involved are blessed and edified. GraceGroups provide real life opportunities to obey Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15 and other passages like it.
When do GraceGroups meet?
GraceGroups meet on the same schedule as our Wednesday evening activities - from September through April with a break around the holidays. Groups meet at various times in homes and mostly on Sunday evenings with a few exceptions.
How do I join a GraceGroup?
We add people to GraceGroups in January and September, multiplying groups when we can. If you have any questions, contact Pastor Bart.
On September 1, 2024, from 4-7pm, we will host a GraceGroup Training & Dinner. Whether you lead a GraceGroup, have been part of one for awhile, or are brand new, come and learn how we are to work together to grow to be more like our Savior. Click here to RSVP!
